I struggled to finish this one, but I'm unsure whether it was the storyline itself or the stiff narration that made it so much of a plod for me.
I had to rewind different parts several times because the story didn't capture my attention and my mind wandered.
I generally love mindless Christmas novels at this time of year because they coax my Christmas spirit along, but this one was too much like work.
