Joy Ellis pens a creditable story about a Police Detective threatened by a frightening lurker/caller - singing mocking little tunes on the phone, leaving creepy messages at work & with her children, and actually breaking into the home of 'DI Kate Carter'. In the midst of a serial murder investigation involving a killer taunting the police with old-school 45RPM records, Carter frantically reviews old cases searching for suspects. The prose/vocabulary is capable, the plot is full of drip-drip-drip revelations, and the characters are well-written. I enjoyed this one.

As to presentation: Hayley Atwell isn't as crisp in her diction as I would like.. but turns in an "above-average" performance overall. Audible Originals Inc. cast the project well.

Altogether, 'One More To Die' merits 8 out of 10 stars. I am grateful for the 'Plus' menu offering. If you can get it for free, it's a no-brainer.. download it. The audiobook may even be worth a Credit if you're an Ellis fan.

[Note: the author's portrayal of investigative teams as syrupy-sweet endlessly loving families is kind of annoying. Has she never had a work conflict? It's strikingly unrealistic]
