One Tough Ombre is the story of dogfaces fighting in Patton's Third Army across Europe in World War Two.

Sarge Goodson is an old veteran remembering the exploits of the 90th Infantry Division, which was known as the Texas-Oklahoma Division in World War One and the Tough Ombres in the Second World War. But they weren't so tough at the start.

General Eisenhower said they were one of the worst divisions in Europe. But Patton shaped them up, and they became one of his favorite divisions, especially after helping him to victory at the Battle of the Bulge.

Sarge was just a farm boy from Texas when he went into the service. He returned home a grizzled veteran who seldom talked about the war, because people couldn't understand what he had gone through.
