À propos de cet audio
"I need your help, Detective. Fire or water?"
Detective Robert Hunter of the LAPD's Homicide Special Section receives an anonymous call asking him to go to a specific web address - a private broadcast. Hunter logs on, and a show devised for his eyes only immediately begins.
But the caller doesn't want Detective Hunter to just watch; he wants him to participate, and refusal is simply not an option. Forced to make a sickening choice, Hunter must sit and watch as an unidentified victim is tortured and murdered live over the Internet.
The LAPD, together with the FBI, use everything at their disposal to electronically trace the transmission down, but this killer is no amateur, and he has covered his tracks from start to finish. And before Hunter and his partner, Garcia, are even able to get their investigation going, Hunter receives a new phone call. A new website address. A new victim. But this time the killer has upgraded his game into a live murder reality show where anyone can cast the deciding vote.

Totally gripping stuff

The glass box scene? I have a strong stomach and I still nearly gagged — it was that good. Carter is at his absolute best here with some of the most intense, inventive murder setups he’s ever written. They’re borderline Saw-esque in their brutality, but so well thought-out you can’t look away.
Michelle’s backstory gave me serious Penelope Garcia vibes (in the best way), and Garcia himself is as hilarious and lovable as ever. The pacing is nonstop, the plot ties up in the most unexpected but brilliant way, and every single reveal had me whisper-screaming. One moment you're gasping at a line like “You said you would do anything I wanted you to”… the next you're full-body clenching as the killer flips on a mic.
The final twist — how the victims connect, the cage, the final reveal — absolutely genius. And the moment of justice at the end? Chef’s kiss.
If you're into high-stakes, high-tension, ultra-violent crime fiction that isn’t afraid to go there — you need to read this. And if you're already a fan of the series, this one is next-level.
