Open is an engaging story of a teenage tennis prodigy who truly lived a life in the spotlight, growing up in print and media. Funny and sad at times, Agassi talks about his battles with confidence and mental health. Throughly enjoyable story. Narrator sounded like a robot at times and took a little away from the story at times. Overall, an excellent story!

Can’t believe I didn’t read this earlier. Incredibly honest and compelling listening if you are a tennis fan or sport in general. The honesty though is what makes this book. Like us all, he has many ups and downs. His inner struggle over his like/ dislike of tennis is intriguing. Often autobiographies are a bit dull, but this one certainly isn’t.

I enjoyed Agassi's story, and the book is well written. My only qualm is the ridiculous female voices the narrator adopts whenever there's text by a feminine figure. Not Agassi's fault however, and I recommend the book!

I heard about Open on a podcast and decided to sample it. The sample piqued my interest, and the book did not disappoint. Having grown up in the 80's, I was aware of Andre Agassi, although I wasn't a tennis fan. I was surprised by his ability to tell his story so well, and genuinely impressed with the calibre of his writing. It was fun to 'hang out' in the 80's and 90's again, and I liked learning about tennis. I was always keen to return to the book, which is why I gave it four stars in every category. There are lots of peaks and valleys, and Andre sure faced some tough challenges, but I love the way he grew as a human being and that he found happines.

Agassi has had anything but a conventional life, and I found his story fascinating. While difficult to relate to in some ways (how can someone so good at a sport--who earns an amazing living off of the sport!--hate it??), he comes across as deeply human, and the love and appreciation he has for his wife is truly touching. I would definitely recommend this listen, even for people who are not sports fans. #Audible1
