Life sucks.

Gabe Harris has been clued into this fact for a long time now. In his mid-twenties, life has been nothing but low paying jobs, petty power-tripping bosses, and the worst roommates mankind has to offer. Bills, debt, and misery have haunted him for his entire adult life and, to make matters worse, it feels like his dream of being a writer is dead on arrival.

One fateful night, he decides to take control of his life and make his dream a reality. Diving into the strange world of online writing soon yields results, enough that he can move into his own place, even if it's a terrible studio apartment. As he finishes moving and prepares to pursue the life of a successful writer by any means necessary, the world throws something completely unexpected his way.

Ellen, a six foot five blonde goddess and former coworker, abruptly reenters his life as her own seemingly perfect existence is collapsing. When the two begin reconnecting, things start getting heated, and Gabe quickly learns that being a successful writer isn't the only thing he wants.

This is a wonderful story and I've been most impressed with it. All the characters have just enough insecurity to make them seem deep and well-rounded.
While the main Character is a little low OP in his ability to read women, It works well for the story.
I really love the interactions between all the characters.

Love the story can't wait to read the other books. The narration was great too. It added this layer of emotion that made certain moments hit even harder. You can tell a lot of care went into how the story was told, both in writing and performance.

Very hard to stomach the story. The protagonist goes into a whole thing about how society is bad and that corporations are conditioning people into being lonely and wanting to seek out monogamous companionship. I've read other works by Misty Vixen and honestly this has to be the worst one I've gotten around to.

Gabe is just utterly spineless. Beats himself up at every turn. He puts women up on an impossible pedestal. I get his personality tries to gravitate towards being a gentleman, but nobody likes a white knight. To make matters worse, the first girl he meets practically manipulates him into everything that follows. He supposedly has a say in things, but that literally never happens.

Also, I should say that the narration by Melanie Hastings was superb. She is such a great talent but unfortunately she just didn't have a good script this time. Still, she did a great job with what she had to work with.

Just can't get into it.
