I really enjoyed the characters. The power progression is smooth and everything stays well balanced. I really enjoy that this felt like a game the whole time with just the right amount of stats and gear that keeps things clear and simple just like i enjoy my actual games. The action was really well described and easy to visualize. The story has a nice scale progression as well.

This book series has the same downside most video game style books has. They spend entirely too much time in needless stats and inventory lists that literally could not matter to the story. Honestly it is a large % of the books. Frustrating and needless. it adds nothing to the story and nobody wants it. It's just filler.

Otherwise it's a decent series.
