Cute story, narrator made it a struggle to listen to. Hoping for someone else in the sequel.

Narrator is terrible and story is worst. Very long description of everyting . Stop listening at about half the book.

Narrator says everything like he's some middle school actor trying to be profound without understanding what he's reading. Instead of his narration lending meaning to the phrases, descriptions, etc it detracts from them. His weird pauses are as bad or worse than William Shatner's too. Story rating is based of my memory of reading these books years ago. I stopped well before the halfway mark because the narrator is so bad.

I have read this book numerous times and really enjoyed it. Thought I would like to listen while I was working. Couldn't handle the attitude of the narrator. Thank goodness all of Ms. Lackey's other books, that I have had the pleasure of listening to, have been skilfully executed. This was a real shame.

Narrator talks almost continuously in a sarcastic tone. Over emphasis names and hawkbrowther words all the time. Apparently has no idea how a gryphon is supposed to speak, obviously never read any other books. Every other accent is Spanish?!? No clue why publishers would continue to use this crapy narrator for following books with such a negative response to his work.
Really really need to redo this series with a different narrator! Seriously!!!
Only continuing to listen in desperate hope it will improve. Did not improve but actually got worse Could not stand this Narrator could finish listening, and this book and following 2 in series is actually my favourite from the Valdemar world.
DO NOT BOTHER LISTENING UNLESS REDONE!
