Description

What happens when temporary becomes forever?

Oz Gallagher does not do relationships well. Bored and jobless after another disastrous hook up, he decides to leave London for a temporary job in the wilds of Cornwall. Surely managing a stately home on a country estate will be easier than navigating the detritus of his relationships at home. Six months there will alleviate a bit of his wanderlust and then he can come back to London as footloose and fancy free as the day he left it.

However, when he gets there, he finds a house in danger of crumbling to the ground and a man who is completely unlike anyone he’s ever met. An earl belonging to a family whose roots go back hundreds of years, Silas is the living embodiment of duty and sacrifice. Two things that Oz has never wanted. He's also warm and funny and he draws Oz to him like a magnet.

Oz banks on the fact that they're from two very different worlds to stop himself falling for Silas. But what will he do when he realizes that these differences are actually part of the pull to one another? Will falling in love be enough to make him stop moving at last and realize that he's finally home?

From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a romantic comedy about two very different men and one very dilapidated house.

This is the first book in the Finding Home series but it can be listened to as a standalone.

These two men are special!

I will say it every time…no one can make me laugh like Lily Morton! She writes pure gold.

Oz, book one in the Finding Home Series is sweet, funny and so special. I want to wrap both of these men up in the biggest hug.

Oz and his runaway mouth that lands him in some hilarious situations, but it’s also the way he keeps people at a distance. And Silas, the down-to-earth Earl trying to keep his dilapidated estate from crumbling entirely, is the loveliest of men.

They are two peas in a pod. Their personalities may be different, but they aren’t very different in who they are. I love how cute they are, and the way they care for each other. With their adorable dates, and the little things they do for each other. Swoon.

If ever two men were the others home, these are them!

Also, Joel Leslie is a treat in his narration of the audiobook for this.

Voice actor takes a wonderful story into brilliance!

This was my first Lily Morton novel and I adored this entire cast of characters. I’ve a soft spot for a self sacrificing hero and great dialogue in my romance novels, and Ms Morton brought both to the page. My favourite scenes were many and Oz is an incredible dynamic character. Supporting Milo, Niall and even the tertiary characters all had charm. But it is Mr. Leslie’s acting (and it cannot be deemed mere “narration” here), that brings these characters to life. While this was my first Morton novel, it was NOT my first Leslie “show”! I have many in my library where Mr. Leslie uses his “American” accent and have enjoyed them, both solo works and joint narrations. This novel however, showcased his talent for accents. I’m not from the UK or Ireland, but the cadence or speech, the tones, and even the audio expressions really brought these two men of different backgrounds to life. I can’t imagine “reading” this story without “hearing” it, and will highly recommend it in this format to all my fellow readers. Mr. Leslie took a lovely heart warming story about finding home in another persons heart to the next next NEXT level. I commend both Mr. Leslie’s performance, Ms.Morton’s writing AND her choice in Mr. Leslie. I will be reading more in this series immediately. Thank you, both.

Fantastic Narration, Great Story

I quite liked this story. I enjoyed the clear difference between the heroes, and how their romance bloomed. When I got to the latter half of the novel and realized that it connected to the Mixed Messages series, my mind was a bit blown.

The one thing that genuinely bothered me about this book was the fact that Oz's character spoke to the reader in both the prologue and epilogue. I despise it when the narrator talks to the reader; it takes me out of the story, putting distance between me and what's going on. Can't stand it.

Joel Leslie's narration was beyond amazing. He moves from accent to accent flawlessly.
