À propos de cet audio
"Dan Siegel and Mary Hartzell have quite deftly managed to translate highly complex neuroscientific and psychological matters into lay strategies for effective parenting." (Marilyn B. Benoit, M.D., former president, American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry).
"Parenting from the Inside Out is a must-have for any parent…I gave a friend of mine a copy and she said, 'This audiobook is changing my life. I like my kids again.'" (Gwyneth Paltrow, Goop.com).
"Together Siegel and Hartzell delicately peel back the many layers of parenting to reveal the pure nature of the relationship at its core." (Neal Halfon, M.D., MPH, professor of pediatrics, UCLA; director, UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families & Communities, and coeditor, Child Rearing in America).
In this best-selling classic, child psychiatrist and coauthor of The Whole Brain Child, Daniel J. Siegel and early childhood expert Mary Hartzell explore the extent to which our childhood experiences shape the way we parent. Illuminating important research in the field of interpersonal neurobiology, Siegel and Hartzell explain how the parent-child relationship directly affects brain development, and offer parents a step-by-step approach to forming a deeper understanding of their own life stories to help them raise compassionate and resilient children.
Drawing on Siegel's cutting-edge research on how communication influences brain development with Hartzell's more than forty years' experience as a child development specialist and parent educator, Parenting from the Inside Out guides parents through creating the necessary foundations for loving and secure relationships with their children.

Instead of being merely the receiver of the parents' psychological and spiritual legacy, children function as ushers of the parents' development. Parents unwittingly pass on an inheritance of psychological pain and emotional shallowness. To handle the behavior that results, traditional books on parenting abound with clever techniques for control and quick fixes for dysfunction. In Dr. Shefali Tsabary's conscious approach to parenting, however, children serve as mirrors of their parents' forgotten self.

We oftentimes look towards the outside world to find the roots of our problems. However, most of the times, we should be looking inwards. Our mind and our emotions determine our state of being in the present moment. If those aspects are left unchecked, we can get easily overwhelmed and are left feeling unfulfilled every single day.

On Getting Unstuck, Pema Chodron introduces a rare Tibetan teaching she received from her teacher, Dzigar Kontrul Rinpoche, and one that has become critical to her practice. Here, she unveils the mystery of an ineffable quality; a "pre-emotional" feeling that arises in us, brings us discomfort, and causes us to react by escaping the discomfort, often with harmful habits. With Getting Unstuck, she offers us a first look at "both the itch and the scratch": what Tibetan Buddhists call shenpa.

Try it out! Positive and empowering
Is your relationship to your own childhood a little complicated? Are you anxious to provide your children with a more nurturing environment? It certainly is my case and I found Parenting from the Inside Out both informative and cheerfully empowering. It’s good to know that you aren’t stuck repeating the way you were brought up, that you can have a more secure attachment to your child than what you had to your parents. I especially enjoyed the questions for self-reflection. I highly recommend!

Very deep. Challenging and meaningful.
Good listen. Very meaningful and very deep. But I found it hard to grasp fully. The concepts and application exercises give many growth opportunities. But I still feel I didn't grasp it fully

Fantastic
It was initially very daunting to think of how much your childhood and previous experiences shape your parenting, it of course makes sense. However, I am at a point in the book now where I feel so hopeful and accepting of all that just is. Great information and insight and so helpful for a mindful parenting approach. #Audible1

Poor Recording Quality
I’ve not had a recording quality like this on audible so not sure what the issue was. Sounded like the readers recorded it in their basements on their phones or something. The reading also feels overly stressed/emphasized and not natural. Had to play it on 1.2-1.5 to get past that. The content is solid though.

super important but poor presentation
The content is very valuable, but how it's presented is very bad. I found other books by Daniel and Tina to be very very well organized. I couldn't continue this one
