À propos de cet audio

One Tuesday changes everything for Robert Williams. A cosmic entity known as the System arrives, selecting him—a suburban father and engineer—as Earth's sole representative for integration. He has six months to say goodbye to his family before being exiled to another universe for over 400 years. Guided by an AI companion and gifted with powerful starting perks, Robert must navigate a new reality defined by levels, skills, magic, and dungeon crawls. From learning basic spells to crafting powerful artifacts and facing down monstrous foes, Robert races against time, not just for his own survival, but to prepare his loved ones and maybe even his planet for a future transformed by the System.

The start of the book is a big mess - it seems that the author knows the names of some concepts but never looked into them. MC is a computer engineer, but obviously never went to an engineering school based on his skill set - CPU and "non-CPU related" design, C/C++ but no other type of programming, and Math is divided into subcategories: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus. He does have short-blade fighting and military command experience for some reason, but no guns ... I think the author just grabbed a bunch of random stuff to use as plot devices without any thought.
There are also inconsistencies with the system - it's one of those with "first to jump" achievements that give big rewards, except the system only picks a single forerunner who, of course, will be the first at everything, so what's the point of those achievements??? MC also gets an AI assistant, but is more of a mentor instead and is somewhat annoying.
The action scenes have a lot of embellishments but not too many details, and it creates further inconsistencies e.g. MC depletes his mana, but then fires 4 more fire bolts; MC is covered in his own blood without the book mentioning him getting hit.

too many inconsistencies and embellishment

I found it hard to really get into this book, mainly because it leans too much on telling instead of showing. Rather than letting emotions and events play out naturally, the story often spells everything out, which made it feel a bit flat. The character interactions also didn’t quite land—they felt more scripted than authentic.

The main character’s speech pattern was all over the place, which made it tough to get a real sense of their personality. It pulled me out of the story more than once.

On top of that, the side characters didn’t get much love. They felt underdeveloped and mostly served as props to move the plot along, without much depth or growth.

Overall, the story had some potential, but the character work and writing style made it tough to stay engaged.
