I'd already read 'His Black Tongue' before and could tell I was onboard with whatever Lüthi was going for but this is an amazing step up. This is NOT some overly ambitious franchise-book series to-be but stands on its own with a solid foundation of medieval history and a skewed perspective on real world religion. Eagerly anticipating whatever comes next from this writer.

I found this book after trying to fill the void of “Between Two Fires” and was NOT disappointed!
Absolutely scratched the itch for a dark, gritty, medieval, horror vibe.
Loved that I learned a lot listening to this book about history and theology that I didn’t know beforehand. You can really tell the author did a TON of research to write this book.

What a wild ride, great story and learned a lot!

If you liked His Black Tongue by this author or Between Two Fires by Christoper Buhelman you will enjoy this. It has fantastic world and character building and the author obviously did his homework.
