Description

Mitzi leads a quiet life as a professional matchmaker. Her cozy life is turned upside down when she is chosen as the matchmaker for an alien species searching for wives. Naturally, she refuses. Unfortunately, she’s having a hard time saying no to the dashingly handsome but domineering alien warrior. Although, he makes her heart flutter, it’s a good thing he’s not her type.

Jax, captain of the Talzor starship, is ordered to hire a shalhinari, a spiritual matchmaker, to find soul mates for six of his men. He locates the best shalhinari on Earth; yet, Mitzi Selig, the earthbound woman, tries his patience. To his distress, he is drawn to her beauty, questioning his judgment. Worse, his long suppressed empathy gene awakens, a trait not seemly for a warrior.

The magnetic pull between Captain Jax and Mitzi is astronomical. Yet, can a tormented warrior and a woman who refuses to leave Earth find love? A long light-year distance relationship is one thing, but looming danger could curtail any chance for their star-crossed passion.

excellent writing, narration is a bust

really enjoyed the story, it ticked off all the boxes for a good scifi story, there were some warm moments with the H&h, i found the story flowed nicely, Jax has traveled to earth for brides for some of the warriors of his planet, in exchange he will give a much needed gift to the people of earth, a intriguing story, this is a slow burn romance, if your expecting explicit sex in every chapter, this isnt that kind of book, as for my opinion of the narrator, she was the wrong choice for this book, Jax (the H) voice was like a bad british accent, the tone and the pitch were all wrong, Mitzi (the h) was sounding like some teenie bopper not like the age of 28 year old everything but the narrative got 5 stars from me, i hope the author choses one of the higher ranked narrators (andi arent) or someone with more of a vocal range, for her next audio.

this audio book was provided to me from the author for a true and unbiased review.

Planet Talzor Needs Brides

When Mitzi is “hired” to fill the role of matchmaker things are different... her clients are alien. She can still do this, but what if she feels a connection to one of the men?

This was a very enjoyable listen. There’s action and adventure as well as the romantic theme. A great story by Eva Gordon and narration by Elizabeth Walker.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Not a sweet read

I received this book free in turn for a review. My issue was that I got the book from a place for sweet romances which this is not. The narrator and story were fine but the story has sex scenes in it which means it never should have been advertised on the facebook group I found it on.

Cute Alien Romance

I needed a good alien romance. I was really into the story but the last couple of hours kind of dragged. They both had their doubts and felt like it was through the entire story. Overall really cute story.
The narration was good and the narrator did good between the male and female characters.

Ooohhh planet trouble

I loved this book Eva did a great job on this book yes it was about aliens and humans mating and pairing off but it was unique. And it didn’t all happen on anther planet 99% of the story occurs on earth. The characters are easy to like and love. The story flows really well and it leaves you wanting more. I am curious to see if we will get more stories from the other ladies that did get to leave the planet.
Hats off to Elizabeth for her narration of this book.

So cute

A yenta and an alpha warrior...what could be cuter. Lots of fun, and a little steam, but not too much. Great story with wonderful characters. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fun From Start to Finish

The title seems a bit corny, but the story is solid! The story is straightforward, but it is fun and engaging as Mitzi works to find matches for Talzorian males. Captain Jax is her liaison from Talzor and their instant chemistry is explosive. It takes them a while to tolerate each other, but in the end they make a great couple.

Narrator Elizabeth Walker did a fantastic job bringing these characters and story to life! This is the first narration I’ve heard from her, but I hope it is not my last.

I received an audio copy from the author for an honest review.

Entertaining!

Planet Talzor Needs Brides is the first book in the Shalhiari Space Chronicles, and quite enjoyable. It's well-plotted and fast-paced; I was thoroughly entertained and immersed. The storyline is packed with twists, turns, romance, drama, and adventure.

The characters are intriguing, and engaging in particular, Mitzi and Jax. They have a marvellous connection with fiery chemistry. Eva Gordon is a fantastic fantasy romance author, she has an incredible imagination, captivating the readers/listeners with her stories. The narration by Elizabeth Walker is excellent, she does an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

Overall this was a great listen, and I recommend it to those who enjoy listing to sci-fi or fantasy romance. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good Start to a New Series

This is the first book in a new series, Shalhiari Space Chronicles, I thought it had a fast-paced storyline and that it could be enjoyed as a standalone book. The story had lots of elements including action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense and many twist/turns which kept me listening, even when I should have been doing something else.

The blurb tells you the premise of the book but it won't tell you how well defined the characters are or how great the chemistry and connection between Mitzi and Jax is. A lot happens in this book, too much to put in a review certainly because that would involve spoilers which I don't like to give.

Mitzi is a matchmaker who believes that she owes it to her clients to make sure all her matches last and she hates that her's didn't. She was dumped two days before her wedding which has affected her confidence!

One day Mitzi is kidnapped by the government, and told to arrange six matches for six Earth women to six alien men so that they can steal some advanced technology and not because it will be a good match, will she be able to do this without losing all her self respect?

Jax has been injured in battle, this has resulted in him now being half robotic and half man and because of this, he believes he is not ready for a mate/wife. But his commander has ordered him to find one and he's always obeyed orders in the past. I liked Jaz, I thought he was a great character, his strength and commitment, as well as his empathy, made him a really interesting male.

The way a human matchmaker and an alien warrior deal with their match is well done, against a background of intrigue, anger and conflict. But there are also some lighter moments too - All in all I have to say this book made me want to listen to the rest of the series.

The narration of this book by Elizabeth Walker was well done, she kept the pace beautifully and made all the characters sound interesting and real.

I was given this audiobook by Story Origin but my review is written voluntarily and contains only my personal opinion.

couldn't finish it

Disclaimer- I recieved a promo code to read this book
I really tried to finish this book, but just couldn't. I got through half, and couldn't go on. I don't think the script was properly edited for audio. Sometimes it felt like I was listening to a one sided phone call, with random breaks and a conversation that didn't make complete sense. The story line is there. But it's really hard to tell the "inner thought" voice of the characters vs that actual "spoken outloud" dialogue. I may try to read the print version to find out the ending.
