Holy Crap!!!

I’m going to be honest. as a truck driver I listen to audiobooks while I drive and shut them off when I’m done for the day. And when I came across this book it look interesting but wasn’t expecting much from it.(just thought it was going to be like the other 200 books I have... holy crap was I wrong... the plot, the twists and turns, the emotions of the characters, the fact I kept listening to this book even after I was done driving for the day, and the ability I have to relate the the main character is unreal.... (I used to be homeless from age 16-24 and fought my way to get to where I am now) hell the fact I’m even writing this review is just amazing normally I’d just give stars but even as tired as I am right now I had to write this even now book 2-3 are being downloaded to my cell and can scarcely wait to dive back into the world you have created... I am eager to hear what happens next and am for once looking forward to waking up in the morning to start listening... ty just ty

Good story, not great translation

The translation was sloppy. I don’t think the translator is familiar with the genre or video games because the same skill name was translated differently at different times among other issues. I would suggest the author indulge in another translator. But like I said, once expectations have been modified to include the translation issues, really fun book.

Above Par Book Brought Down by Poor Translation

The story is great, and the world is well described. The protagonist himself is a very believable character with his own motives, goals, and outlook on life that very clearly influences his decisions. The mechanics of the game itself are unique from typical LitRPG, with interesting systems and different ways to complete quests.

The problem of this book is in the translation. The translation becomes steadily worse throughout the book, until things no longer make sense later. This is very noticeable in the dialogue in the final half of the book.

If you can power through the poor translation in the second half, a new translator takes over for the second book and does a much better job.

This really would be an 8/10 book, but the translation makes it feel more 5-6/10.

I started with 4 stars by the end 1 star

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TRASH!
When the females are talking you don't know there female until the narrater says there name its horrible and really annoying that Audible would allow this to happen shows a little they care about the quality. There isnt a single female sounding character not even close.
Honestly his male voice sound similar sometimes it sounds like he's talking to himself when conversing with another.
By far one of the worst narraters.
Then there are times where he is having a conversation with him self and his voice doesn't match is internal voice.
Then stats i hate excessive stat reads but in this book he puts points into stats but he never read them i have no idea what his STR, WIS, DEX ETC so his stats never come into play he never picks up anything heavy moves fast all the fight scenes are the same him running around looking for a opening no flashy moves or movement and most of his fights take hours to find a victor.
In the end he willing loses 15 lvl which will take over a actual month to get it back its so dumb considering he cant beat anything on the floor his stuck.

This one is OK

I liked this book enough to buy the second one. I listened to only the first part of the second one and did not like it. I will never know what happens in the end.

This was excellent!

This was well done, with lots of depth and done in a way that the world building and leveling wasn't over done or boring but exciting and you just can't wait to see what happens next. The battles were good and not boring. I will absolutely be getting the next book.

As to the "not translated well" Review, I had no problems with translations. In fact, it was perfect and the Narrator was great with all voices. So if that was turning you off don't listen to that review this one is really well produced.

no real plan just makes it up as the story moves

This guy has a creative imagination ; however there is no suspense due to never laying out the background properly. the book is like riding a train images whiz by. there is no time for connection with people or areas.

Try Hard

Author spends too much time trying to write the MC as cool and detached in a dick-ish way that doesn't come off authentically. Would work better to try a more straight forward writing style. And maybe getting someone else to write the action scenes/progression parts.

Enjoyed it but hard to keep track of the story.

So many things happen in the book that it felt like it was hard to keep track of the plot. The MC has the biggest plot armor I have ever seen and literally everything he does goes his way. It just so happens its in a video game which makes it a bit odd to having people pay him cash rewards for different things. I don't really get the economy of the outside world influencing the game to the degree that this book has. Anyway, I did enjoy it as I actually finished it and didn't put it down. Just my 2 cents

Too fast

The book is decent but not great. The story has a lot of potential but progresses far too fast which robs you of any opportunity to establish a true connection to the characters. Things are happening with no real explanation and people are connecting with no true reason.
It’s almost as if the author has no true connection to the characters either. The MC gets identified by his name and then “the player” or something else that, if you’re even slightly distracted, leaves you wondering if he’s still talking about the same person.
Again, this is an overall decent book but I won’t be reading it twice if I can get through the last hour.
