The setting and main character backstory around working under Florence Nightingale during the Crimean War was interesting and grounded to story. As a big fan of Manda Collins I was a bit disappointed in not the writing, but editing of the story. There were several places where I feel another pass by an editor would have benefited the story, where turns of phrase were used repeatedly/noticeably and a few places where two character names were mistakenly used/swapped and therefore cause clarity issues.

I also did not enjoy the reader. She was very monotone during the descriptions and long passages without dialogue. It almost sounded like she was bored, and so it was boring to listen to. There were other sections were her reading pace was uneven - rushed almost. It personally distracted from the story overall.
