An enjoyable read set in 1920s England, featuring a delightful Sunshine and Grump pairing with some deft, well-timed humour. The atmosphere and character dynamics are reminiscent of KJ Charles' Magpie series, which is always a win. The narration was also lovely, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience.

This is a sequel to the Magic in Manhattan series, so there’s a bit of initial mental scrambling to piece together the backstory—but honestly, it's not worth stressing about. The core of the story stands well enough on its own.

I’ve already picked up the second book in the series—not because of a cliffhanger (this one wraps up neatly), but simply because I enjoyed the characters so much.

Charming and Atmospheric 1920s Romance

Good story with lots of excitement. The romance is a slow burn with just enough detail in the sex scenes to not turn me off. Not too explicit in other words. Joel did a very good job with the voices getting Wesley's snark without making him obnoxious. Nice job on the accents.
Worth the listen, recommended. Absolutely going to get book two next.
