When owner of the Pumpkin Patch Quilt Store in Pumpkin City, Pennsylvania, Franny Green, discovers a photograph of her deceased grandmother holding a wedding quilt, standing beside a man who is not Franny’s grandfather, she is anxious to discover who the man is. She knows she can find answers through her grandmother’s friends at Ripe on the Vine nursing home, but they insist on doing a bit of matchmaking between her and Doctor Birch Trees before they will satisfy her curiosity by insisting Franny "show the doctor around the local quilt festival".
