I adored these two!

Neither Blake nor Gavin were looking for love, but once they found each other, they couldn’t seem to look away.

Blake’s grief had completely stalled her life, while Gavin was carrying the weight of family expectations and responsibilities that were never really his choice. Their journey was emotional, tender, and full of healing. Blake’s backstory absolutely broke my heart.

And now I need Gavin’s brother’s story! That man is such an enigma, and I’m dying to know what’s going on in his head.

🎧 Narration: Desiree Ketchum and Greyson Owens were fantastic. They brought so much warmth and emotion to Blake and Gavin’s story, making every heartfelt moment land perfectly.

Overall, this was a sweet, emotional cowboy romance that balanced grief, healing, and falling in love beautifully.

Blake has returned home after years in self appointed exile after her brother died. She is not in touch with her feeling and isn’t connecting with her family. In walks Gavin who pushes her to be the vivacious girl she once was. He’s going through major financial issues around his ranch and she may be able to help him. Over the story, I felt like Blake got to grow and change and heal, while Gavin remained relatively unchanged and less fleshed out as a character.
I will say that the scene that got Blake back on a horse got me in the feels, but up to that point I was a bit bored with the story.

Listen to the audio! Desiree Ketchum and Grayson Owens do an absolutely fabulous job of bringing Blake and Gavin to life. And my dual loving heart was ecstatic to hear Desiree's man voice, I get chills everytime. And after listening to Grayson for the first time, he showed such a wide range with his characters voices...I can't wait to hear more from him!

Blake has returned home after five years...and it's not by choice but by guilt. Her mom had an accident and her parents needed her help. Shes avoided this small town because everything reminds her of before...and now it just hurts.

Gavin is determined to save his family's ranch...but it's so much worse than anyone knows. The last person he ever expected to walk into their fundraiser at Night Hawk is Blake...and she's just as beautiful as he remembered. And maybe that teenage crush he had on her is still holding out hope.

Kayla did such a beautiful job of creating such depth with these characters, each struggling with grief and family expectations. It took them coming together to figure out a way to cope and move forward.

Plus I think it's safe to say I'll do the Lord's work and save a horse and ride a cowboy.

Kayla has outdone herself again with this one!! This story is one that I love and have added to my own small collection. READ it! You'll LOVE IT!! How could you not? Hot Cowboy that loves the unapologetically fiesty plus size woman! Yes PLEASE!!! Keep it up Kayla!!! Love you!!

I had seen some reviews on booktok about this book but went in mostly blind with little understand on what it was about. I loved it. gives all the feels and is a lot spicier then I thought. this will not be the last I read from this author. narrators were perfect
