Narrated by Laurence Bouvard and Edward Petherbridge. A lovely American actress awakens in London on a cold morning in 1897 - lying face down on the concrete pavement outside the British Museum. She has no memories. She does not even know who she is, although she has a vague recollection of the name Sherlock Holmes. What she believes is that she has may have just killed someone, and that someone is definitely trying to kill her. As she searches for clues to her true identity, she will learn that she is not the only target. Unless she can defeat her evil adversaries, the people most dear to her will die.

I thoroughly enjoyed this world in which Holmes and Watson aren’t simply characters in a book, but real people who are by now notorious and called in for high level criminal investigations. Lucy’s inclusion in the series broadens its appeal to a wider audience as she’s engaging, intelligent and quick-witted. I loved the secondary characters in this one and hope to see more of them in later books.

Like I said, feels like it’s for teens -the first two books in the series are fabulous and just feel like an extension of Arthur Cronin Doyle‘s books. This one feels like it’s preteen. - the female narrator I also find somewhat annoying, but I’m going to try and finish the book and maybe I’ll get used to her (I did get more used to her and I would have to say if I was a teen I would love these books. I’m going to finish this one, but probably won’t be listening to anymore.

I like the story just as much as the first 2, more Sherlock Holmes is always a plus in my book! Unfortunately, although the addition of a second voice actor was a good idea, I feel the voice of Laurence Bouvard clashes too much with the one of Edward Petherbridge, making Lucy sound more child like than young adult. I liked the idea of having 2 voices very much but unfortunately for me Bouvard's voice took me out of the story somewhat as I kept having to remind myself of Lucy's age in regards to the story, she would have been amazing for a flashback story with a young Lucy, but then we wouldn't have a Sherlock...

Otherwise, just like the first two, the story is well written and still worth a listen!
