Too many parodies and 1 dimensional characters.
Okay making the dungeon the hero was intriguing and all. But isn't all this in the VGO universe? All the players seem to be the same 1 dimensional teenager archetype. Which is both bad writing and acontinuity error if this is VGO. Also seriously Santa parody elves? And what's with every player using self censorship, the same flavor of self censorship? So much ceringey blatant political correctness.

slightly better than the first one
This book has an interesting premise being from the NPC's perspective. Unfortunately it still doesn't capitalize on it in an interesting way. The details of individual struggles are a bit more interesting than the first book, but the larger scope of why the heroes are willing to help when they aren't getting rewards and how planting a single potion among tens or hundreds is somehow guaranteed to work bugged me enough that I wouldn't pay for this series... on the other hand it was free with my subscription and not bad enough to stop listening to part way.
