Description

"I've set up my corporation. Now what do I do?"

All too often business owners and real estate investors are asking this question. They have formed their protective entity - be it a corporation, LLC, or LP - and don't know what to do next.

Run Your Own Corporation provides the solution to this very common dilemma. Breaking down the requirements chronologically (i.e. the first day, first quarter, first year), the audiobook sets forth all the tax and corporate and legal matters new business owners must comply with. Written by a Rich Advisor, Garrett Sutton, Esq. who also authored the companion edition Start Your Own Corporation, the audiobook clearly identifies what must be done to properly maintain and operate your corporation entity.

From the first day, when employer identification numbers must be obtained in order to open up a bank account, to the fifth year when trademark renewals must be filed, and all the requirements in between, Run Your Own Corporation is a unique resource that all business owners and investors must have.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your Library section along with the audio.

Good general overview; author is a bit nutty

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This is a good book for someone who is new to running their own cooperation or for someone who wants to brush up on corporate governance. The author is clear, the book is tight and the examples are engaging and informative. I will note however, that as a general book, it doesn't get into a great deal of detail. Also, I found it strange when, in the middle of the book, the author delves into what amounts as a nutty anti-government example and weird followup. Finally, all of the Rich Dad books overly reference other books in the series, something that is irritating and, I believe, serves only to undermine the books. That said, conspiracy theories and smarmy sales tactics aside, this is a good book

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Again, this was informative as a general overview.

Which scene was your favorite?

The book does a god job of outlining the legal and financial pitfalls related to corporate governance.

What did you take away from Rich Dad Advisors: Run Your Own Corporation that you can apply to your work?

The author lays out in a very clear way to run a corporation in terms of governance. He should keep his nutty anti-government rants to himself. They are distracting.

Any additional comments?

No book can cover all topics of running a corporation. But this is one of several books on business that entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs should own.

Needs digital reference files to be included

The book refers to many examples and files in the back of the book but the audio book has no link to these so I would not consider the audiobook to be a complete book when compared to the printed book.

Loved learning through the stories

This book has become one of my top business books. Unlike textbook teaching the author teaches via fictitious (and often humorous) stories aka case studies the important lessons of running a corporation. Highly recommended if you enjoy learning through case studies.

Rich Dad Advisors: Run Your Own Corporation

This book contains detailed explanation on the policies, requirements and procedures to incorporate, document and run your own business. Examples of three different businesses including the, mistakes, errors and pitfalls encountered provide a sobering and helpful guide to the new entrepreneur.
Examples were given on how to avoid these mistakes an errors and how to remedy them if made.
I think a prudent entrepreneur would be well advised to read this book.

this book is a must-read

this book was very informative the buddy I am getting in business with is taking a contractor's license class and I learned the same thing that he's learning from the class from this book I recommend highly and thank the people who wrote the book. Also the stories are what kept the book exciting it was very in very smart to separate the stories between chapters.

Read Before You Start Your Business

Would you consider the audio edition of Rich Dad Advisors: Run Your Own Corporation to be better than the print version?

I don't like reading so that would be my reason for liking the book better. It took me two days to listen to this book and I took a lot of notes as I listened. This book could be very helpful in the print style as you could just highlight important areas.

What other book might you compare Rich Dad Advisors: Run Your Own Corporation to and why?

Rich Dad Poor Dad

Any additional comments?

This book made me realize the importance of having an accountant and logging minutes for your meetings. I feel better about paying for my accountant to do my books and guide me now.

Most practical and interesting book on business...

I loved the way Garrett presents the critical habits and daily necessities of staying and running a business. I'd say this book is better to own than taking college courses on business. a must read for all small business owners!
