Description

GREAT!!

I really loved this book, I'm a big samurai fan and this hit the spot.. too short though, I need more.

Engaging treatment of historical material

Brian Nishii is my new favorite narrator. After hearing him narrate Eiji Yoshikawa’s book Musashi, I needed to hear more from him.

As a result, I found Samurai Rising. The book is written for younger readers, but as a history fan I appreciated both Pamela Turner’s attention to historical sources and her use of modern-day analogies to bring events to life for modern readers. Highly recommended for readers of all ages who are interested in feudal Japan.
