À propos de cet audio
A former villain is living a quiet life, hidden among the masses. Miles has one big secret: He might just be the most powerful super in existence.
Those days are behind him. But when a wounded young lady unable to control her superpower needs his help, she shatters his boring life, pulling him into the one place he least expected to be—the Bureau of Superheroes.
Now Miles has an opportunity to change the place he has always criticized as women flock to him, creating both opportunity and disaster.
He is about to do the strangest thing a deputy director of the bureau has ever done: start saving supervillains.

The main character is the most powerful super in the world. By far. He also has a tragic backstory that has hardened his heart against relationships with women...for at LEAST five minutes before the first superhero he has to save falls for him. And then it's harem time, since this world has a gender imbalance of seven to one (and rising), handwaved away by the superhero gene.
Throughout the book, the main character is hit on by multiple beautiful women, ends up promoted to second in command of a superhero organization despite having only worked for them for a month, and lives with a harem of adoring superhero women, voiced by the talented Rozelyn Rader.
All this is fun, but it's wasted potential at best. There are tantalizing glimpses of the book it could have been - the tragic backstory drives the main character to clean up superheroes, for example, or his need to keep his identity secret being balanced against saving lives. But as interesting as these ideas are, they get swept aside in moments as if they were just convenient plot devices. The main character succeeds at everything he tries, not because he's particularly smart or driven (he bumbles his ways through the book), but because he's the main character. The weird thing is that Bruce Sentar can do better; his Dragon series at least has a compelling reason for the main character to be so powerful and desireable that is believable, while this book just feels like it's slapped together in a hurry.
...but that being said, it's also addictive. It's mindless, sexy superhero fun that plays at a number of tropes we love to see, and it was just the thing to listen to when tired of drama and mystery. It's the McDonald's of audiobooks. I've already bought the sequel for when I'm in the mood for something trashy.
Trash... but addictive trash.

As for the book itself:
It throws a curveball at the beginning as you have to adapt to a very different social dynamic from the real world it imitates. But it is a fun and interesting take on a world flipped on its head. Then add superpowers and it is pure fantasy. But the creativity of this title is AMAZING! I will definitely be getting the next one.
The main character has a compelling backstory and an even more compelling superpower. His main squeeze, as this is a romance novel (don't kid yourself), is also quite tragic but their coming together is so unique and makes 100% sense to me.
The author has such a fun mind, as he finds such interesting takes on superpowers and how they are utilized. Some seemingly great powers are useless in certain situations and others that seem useless are used in such varied ways to be perfect tools.
I don't know what could have been done differently but I feel like certain parts were too rushed and could have used more detail or fleshing out. But it might have messed with the pacing at the time. There is a balance that is missing that prevents a full 5/5 x3 rating. But I do Highly Recommend this book.
Excellent Acting and Story
