©2017 Eloisa James, Inc. (P)2017 HarperCollins PublishersI had a hard time getting past the major plot hole. Lady Lissette's mother, who was dead in "A Duke of her Own", was the main protagonist in the this one. I found that major inconsistency was confusing and took some joy away as a reader.....
There were other inconsistencies too which further confused me.....Ward's resentful feelings about his ex-fiance Mia marrying Vander (instead of him) were mentioned, but not the urgent reason for doing so (keeping custody of her orphaned nephew).... Coincidentally, her predicament was similar to his with his orphaned half-siblings.... You'd think he would have had more empathy with Mia, so the resentment/anger seemed unrealistic.
Ward says he was distantly related to Evan, when, in fact, they were first cousins.... Eugenia ends up pregnant but blames it on unreliable French letters (condoms) when, in fact, they had one event of unprotected sex....... The author seemed to have gotten lazy in her writing which ruined the book for me.
