Histoire
The human race has become nearly extinct. Allistor and his small group push to make themselves stronger, fighting to survive the year-long stabilization. Forced to battle increasingly stronger and more deadly monsters, they work to expand their holdings, learn better spells, and gather resources to improve their crafting. Dungeons must be cleared, and dragons defeated. Fellow survivors are found - some friendly, some hostile. Allistor considers every human life precious, but when it becomes a case of kill or be killed, hard choices must be made.

The adventure continues.
another amazing story. lots of points where I was laughing my ass off. a great expansion a great overall story. The action the adventure of the base building the character building. again the voice actors and sound effects put it over the top. And multiple times I was dropped to tears.
I might be a big softy. but bravo. well done story and something that I will definitely be listening to multiple multiple times. I cannot wait for audiobook four.

Good but MC is dumb as a brick
Just like the title says. This series has pretty good world building, back story and developing characters. That said it sometimes feels like the main character hasn't changed at a lot of points in the story. While other characters are learning and becoming smarter he still seems like a doofus of a college student bumbling along. After a year of fighting monsters, aliens and humans it feels like he has learned nothing.
All that said I enjoy the premise of the story, the plot and the authors writing style.
If only he developed the MC like the rest of the supporting characters.

The witty banter isn't witty ..and adds zero value
The whole "slice of life" thing is completely overdone ...the character interactions feel really fake, and the narrator's main voice doesn't help make any of it more believable. The narrator does a good job changing voices for the respective characters, but the substance just isn't there.
I think that the "drama" is weak, and in general the writer's priorities are wrong. The whole tone of the story is just off-putting, and ruins what could've been a great series.
In my opinion, it kinda comes across as if the author is having a nerd fantasy where he's "the cool guy" who gets the girl and wins at everything. The ease with which all the monetary gains and power-ups happen makes everything a forgone conclusion.
The magic system and action sequences aren't good enough to tolerate such bad story telling. At the end of the book instead of feeling satisfied I just felt like I wasted a whole bunch of time.

stop it with the public domain sound effects
Sound booth has turned this series into a joke. Cheap sound effects, terrible voices that you can't understand what is being said, and an overuse of echo and reverb made this a chore to listen too. Frankly it sounds like no listened to this book post production.
Storywise, I've noticed some issues. Like Allister finally not putting up with someone's bs and being emotionally crucified for it. He just goes back to putting his hands up and apologizing to everyone.
Basically a door mat and a clown of a leader who is hen pecked and brow beaten by his girlfriend at every chance possible. It's an unhealthy relationship dynamic, and almost sitcom cringe in it's delivery.
Woman is goddess who is never wrong and slaps man on back of head at every opportunity. Man is dumb and so sorry for everything all the time. It's less of a romance and more of a mother son dynamic, which is creepy.
Also a weird plot point is this guy has the same amount of gold as some people who own solar systems, but doesn't use it to outfit himself and the core team with the best weapons, armor, skills and technology? Like he spends 300 million on Ai upgrades, but doesn't upgrade his peoples gear? He could literally buy anything... but relies on gear from low level mobs and crafters. It's weird.

Remove the Litrpg tag
In no way does this deserve the title lit rpg, the author barely mentions the stats or how they change the characters. Also skill evolutions are mentioned but never followed up on, author doesn't describe loot after fights at all ECT. The book itself is decently written, if a little repetitive and easy to predict. I was waiting for Allistor to check his loot he got for almost half the book. though and kinda pissed me of that he got a LEGENDARY item and didnt even check.

Not bad, just frustrating at times.
MC keeps saying he has problems with notifications and never adresses it. Constantly skipping loot and "forgetting" items he has that could have helped or saved him in the future. Every gamer knows inventory management is a constant. This MC didn't get the memo

More of the same good stuff
It's a solid continuation of the story. I hate when characters act out of character to drive the story or create tension. The characters have remained mostly true. One exception possibly being the decision to fight the enemy in their own stronghold towards the end(trying not to spoil). Our MC has a long monologue about not wanting to lose human lives, but starts the most deadly battle they have faced. There's plenty of action. The fight sequences have been very formulaic to this point in the story. Get in a fight, get hurt, lose a few humans, mourn the loss. That's the standard for almost every encounter. Maybe don't kill a couple of people every fight and the reader would actually feel the loss? Good book though and I'll certainly get the next. 90/100.

I cannot stand the extra sound effects. I love the story and what the mc goes through but the singing and the extra battle noises was too distracting. When I read it the first time I was happy. I do not plan on keeping this or the other two books. Please redo and take the extra noices out.

MC's voice
There are a lot of voice actors IN this book that would have been better for voicing Alistair. His accent sounds wrong and whiney. The narrator should have been left there and Jeff Hayes or someone else does the American MC.

Decent book buttttt......
I like the spin on how Willmarth combine future, fantasy, and post-apocalyptic at once. The plot is clever I enjoyed the first two books, this one was okay, I just kept getting annoyed by the circular theme of Alexander crying because someone he met once dying because they had to defend a stronghold, then them getting betrayed by a jealous leader. I also had trouble with the voice actor of Alexander he didn’t put much emotion or believability the character and he kind of sounded like and over annunciating drunk person speaking slowly (I know the description is a bit dramatic, but that’s as close as I could think of). I still am a fan of Willmarth, the book just started to agitate me.
