I really enjoyed the first two books but there wasn't much more character development in this one, meaning the endless action sequences got a bit boring towards the end. The impact of these scenes became less as they went on and on, which was a pity as there were some great eerie moments earlier in the book. I really longed for the two MC to have some quiet moments or a breather, but these were very seldom. Like cut some descriptions of their food and give them a chance to deal with some of the bottled up angst or something! And also, despite the endless action, even minor characters survived everything so it really felt a bit low stakes, which made it even harder to get through towards the end. It's still a good story but I had higher expectations after the first two and was left unsatisfied by this book.

I enjoyed this listen. I do have a small issue with the voice acting, though. There is one line that was read as the "cook's" voice, when it should have been Airon's. I had to re-listen to the line, since I was a little taken aback... I didn't timestamp it, but I kinda wish I did. Excellent voice acting overall.
