À propos de cet audio
After publicly declaring war on the queen, Kenna finds herself in a race against time as she fights to free the shifters from the grip of madness and works to find and train an army equipped to take on the ruthless ruler.
More innocent victims are taken as the atrocities of the war between races continue, and Kenna’s desire to protect her people drives her to reckless behavior, dragging her chosen with her. The closer she gets to taking the throne, the more she sees the devastating toll that being the princess has on those she loves, leaving her questioning whether loving her is truly worth the cost.
With each passing day, the queen’s men close in, relentless in their pursuit, and when the unthinkable happens, the rebellion is left picking up the shattered pieces of what remains. Will they be able to survive the blow, or will the movement crumble, unable to keep the spark of hope alive? Find out in this thrilling conclusion of the Magic Bound series.
Shadows and Lies is a reverse-harem novel where the heroine doesn’t have to choose just one mate.

I find myself unconsciously tuning out during the sex scenes and the further I got into the series, the worse it got. I think.the concept is AMAZING, and I love the dynamic and the personalities of each character. It just gets so damned repetitive. I found myself rewinding the big sex scene at the end literally 12 times because it was so repetitive that I would unknowingly tune out and when I tuned back in I would realize that I had no idea who was doing what. The characters have slight variations on the kind of sex they like but they all literally say the same things over and over. Here's an example (paraphrased):
"sexy as fuck!" is said so freaking often, by everyone!
"goes straight to my clit..."
is said nearly every sex scene... other way overused moments are:
-Teo kissing her mark.
- Kenna being entered, exited, turned around, then re-entered (which is confusing as there is no mention of how, just that she's facing the other way now)
- nipples pebbled (This is a HUGE one. It drove me insane
- fingers being "raked" through peoples' hair
- etc.
And here's an example of times where the dialogue is crazy repetitive at other times:
"Hey!" Says everyone at some point.
"Hey yourself." Kenna, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
There were even points in this book where Kenna literally says the exact same thing to each of her mates, in a row. It doesn't make sense to do that, you wouldn't even do that in real conversation, telling them each individually the exact same thing while they're all right in front of you. If it was in their minds one on one, sure, but instead of for example saying "I love all of you" it would be like saying it individually to each one, in a row. There is no need for it.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that someone needs to get this author a Thesaurus for her birthday!
Otherwise, I love the storyline again, I love the characters, despite them being difficult to differentiate sometimes, and I am looking forward to more... let's hope the next book has some more expansive wording options! ♡
Loved some parts, others drove me nuts!

I loved the story, and was curious about the development of the reverse harem, which brought me to book 3.
I found quite a bit of the reading to be robotic, but made it through.
robots can still tell a story

Annoyingly inefficient
