Another great story in the Sharpe series. The story telling and writing is excellent and is brought to life by Rupert Farley's excellent narration. The many voices and inflection of Farely cannot be matched.

Not his best work , I listen to seven book before this one. Obviously I really like the Sharpe books. But the plot is really weak. Only one I don’t now if I’ll listen to the last two chapters. I’ll probably tough it out

Not up to Bernard Cornwall best books

Difficult to listen to in my car or while doing tasks as the narrator will go from whispering to yelling. It really helped my tinnitus to have him scream Santiago shortly after near whispering the scene description. I constantly have to adjust the volume in my car to hear the whispering and suppress his screaming of some dialogue portions. Honestly, very disappointed and won't listen to anything else by him. I love the author and will find anything else without this narrator.
