I'm surprised that this is not a big hit on audible. I enjoyed the world-building and both narrators were really good. Great listen!

A Fantastic Start to the Series

Only a few chapters in, it is clear that the story and character are mostly shallow caricatures of tropes presented in every school drama. Pointless rivalry and misdirected animosity with any motivation or proper development. Also a bit surprising to have the antagonist completely ignore trauma, disappear so to become a suspect in her mother's death. Of course, since the consequences of that death was completely under developed as well, it isn't all that surprising.

Overall, it is a single minded narrative with little substance to truly support its own content and the world it haphazardly illustrates. Not as defined as Twlight and far less enchanting as a Hogwarts. The dialogue is solid and the writing is good, but not enough to fill the gaps in the narrative.
