The sheer number of times that any particular section is brought back to his rock climbing activities is beyond excessive. The formula goes something like 'push thorough adversity/be comfortable with suffering and it will make you more disciplined: it makes me a better rock climber because...' Over and over again, I lost count after 20 or so. That was repetitive and again made it feel as though this whole thing was rushed for the sake of 'being disciplined.'
tl:dr lots of good advice, and worth reading if you struggle with personal discipline. The way that is was written might have benefitted from some more time to mature, even if that means we don't get multiple chapters about how he can write a book in two weeks. Of course you can if it's that short and largely about rock climbing.
