À propos de cet audio

In this spectacular New York Times bestselling father/son collaboration that “barrels along like a freight train” (Publishers Weekly), Stephen King and Owen King tell the highest of high-stakes stories: what might happen if women disappeared from the world of men?

In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent. And while they sleep they go to another place, a better place, where harmony prevails and conflict is rare. One woman, the mysterious “Eve Black,” is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease. Is Eve a medical anomaly to be studied? Or is she a demon who must be slain?

Abandoned, left to their increasingly primal urges, the men divide into warring factions, some wanted to kill Eve, some to save her. Others exploit the chaos to wreak their own vengeance on new enemies. All turn to violence in a suddenly all-male world. Set in a small Appalachian town whose primary employer is a woman’s prison, Sleeping Beauties is a wildly provocative, gloriously dramatic father-son collaboration that feels particularly urgent and relevant today.

EXCELLENT narration! In my personal opinion, not the best of Stephen King, but still a good read. Felt as though the end kind of fizzled out.

Time well spent listening

I LOVE this book I have read through and I am listening to the audio book. The book flows well and is great to listen to if you're a Fan of Mr. King! I have one issue with the book, some may view it as small but I have a hard time getting passed, the issue is, her voice. It's ear piercing and honestly causes me pain when certain words are said. With this being said (written) I really enjoy this novel and recommend it! Maybe just turn the volume down!

Love it, except for one thing!

This audio book had me hooked right from the start. The characters have depth and the story keeps you wondering what will happen next. Would LOVE to see this adapted to a mini series and maybe an alternate ending? Great work by a legend and his son, who shows with his skills in writing that he will be just as amazing as his father!

Great Collab by father and son

Loved it. You could not tell who wrote what. The narrator did well with her different accents.

Our family recently played the book while driving for a vacation getaway.
The story was interesting and captivating, but the characters and their life experiences made for good family discussions.
(sorry, no spoilers)

Entertaining and thought provoking
