Characters that became beloved in the first book of this series reappear...Diablo, DI Stephens, Max Mephisto...this story was more chilling than the first but has all the charm, pacing, and suspense of the first in the series. Again, Daniel Philpott has become the voice of Edgar Stephens; he captures the characters perfectly. I signed the third book out of my library as soon as I finished this one!
