À propos de cet audio
A woman must learn to take life by the throat after a night out leads to irrevocable changes in this juicy, thrilling novel from the USA Today bestselling author of Such Sharp Teeth and Black Sheep.
Sloane Parker is dreading her birthday. She doesn’t need a reminder she’s getting older, or that she’s feeling indifferent about her own life. Her husband surprises her with a birthday-weekend getaway—not with him, but with Sloane’s longtime best friend, troublemaker extraordinaire Naomi. Sloane anticipates a weekend of wine tastings and cozy robes and strategic avoidance of issues she’d rather not confront, like her husband’s repeated infidelity.
But when they arrive at their rental cottage, it becomes clear Naomi has something else in mind. She wants Sloane to stop letting things happen to her, for Sloane to really live. So Naomi orchestrates a wild night out with a group of mysterious strangers, only for it to take a horrifying turn that changes Sloane’s and Naomi’s lives literally forever. The friends are forced to come to terms with some pretty eternal consequences in this bloody, seductive novel about how it’s never too late to find satisfaction, even though it might taste different than expected.

"As beautiful as it is horrific, So Thirsty is a potent ode to love in its many forms. Rachel Harrison weaves a dark and gruesome tale of true friendship’s ability to transcend both death and undeath."—Chuck Tingle, USA Today bestselling author of Camp Damascus
“The addictive latest from Harrison is by turns gory, rage-inducing, eerie, melancholy, and hopeful… a smart, scary, and occasionally sexy page-turner.”—Publishers Weekly
“With a realistic protagonist who faces choices that are sometimes scarier than monsters, this book will have readers sinking their teeth in.”—Library Journal (starred review)
Sloane has lived a safe and monotonous life for the past thirty-six years, but all that changes when her wild best friend Naomi comes to visit and whisks her away to a surprise party with strangers. And then they are both surprised when those strangers turn out to be vampires. From there, things get chaotic, dramatic, wild, and endearing.
Despite her gloomy personality, Sloane is easy to empathize with and support because she is in a position many people her age might be. I wanted her to lighten up, which was the whole point of her arc. Seeing her struggle with this new, shocking reality and try to adapt was really engaging. Naomi is as impulsive as they come, someone who does what she wants when she wants because she wants. While I enjoyed their vampiric found family, the dynamic between Sloane and Naomi was the strength of the book.
The plot is pretty straight forward: These two women go on insane adventures trying to manage their thirst and find their footing in this new life. There are plenty of hijinks, bad choices, and carnage, but it was fun to read. The writing is quick, humorous, and made me want to get back to the drama.
SO THIRSTY is a book for fans of vampire lore, best girl friends, chaos, angst, and drama. I really enjoyed it and recommend it for Halloween season!
