I have listen to the story a long time ago so I forgot a lot of details. the last 5 minutes of the story made my eyes a little misty.
the narrator did a good job.
Lisa a lovely writer and brings you into her characters and stories.
all of them have such dimension. Grant Morgan the bow Street runner, hard-working and committed to the truth, the lover, forgiver and acceptor of people.
Vivian, a character with different facets, faces and names.
Both Vivian's are multi-dimensional characters.
Many times the courtesan is written as cutthroat, malicious, greedy. And sometimes that's because of how hard that life is and what they've been through to get there. Other times it's just a one-dimensional character.
Lisa gives us a woman who wants to live on her own terms and makes some hard choices. especially as someone who is chosen to be a child for you, I really appreciate how Lisa depicted that decision-making process, it's not without thought and feeling.
There's a beautiful HEA that might bring tears to your eyes. The final lines of the book are just so beautiful.
