Description

The boy knows that times are tough for his family. Every night, his father goes out hunting with their great coon dog, Sounder, to try to put food on the table. But even with the little they bring back, there is still never enough for the family to eat.

Suddenly the boy must grow up fast in a world that isn't fair, keeping hope alive through the love he has for his father's faithful dog, Sounder. A quick, satisfying program

There were audio problems near the end of the program (it sounded as if there was interference from a nearby radio transmission. I went back and listened a second time in case the problem was with my phone but there it was again in the same place). Otherwise, I really enjoyed the listen. Given the narrator's piece appropriate accent, it was an immersive experience. Theatre of the mind. I wish I had another audiobook just like this to jump into.
