Narrator is perfect in his portrayal of characters. That’s it.
The only saving grace in this audio book might be the Narrator. Without him I might have returned the book. Warning! Plot points revealed! The Author has the annoying habit in the beginning of the book of his characters not acting in the way they would in real life, or worse to me it appears like they’re a bit dense. The main Character is panicked about his son who’s been injured, yet when he meets certain characters he starts speaking to them like his sons not there, not bleeding to death. When he’s picked up by the ”Aliens” who are human look a-likes and speak English??.?,they also quotes references to Rome. Yes there are some “Aliens” introduced on the ship. Then it gets odd again. The Alien is able to pull up a browser from hundreds of years ago?? The main character on the ship only mentions his concern for his son once, being a single father that one stumps me. I have to admit it gets a bit better later on in the book. As always it’s my opinion and YMMV.
