Ordered to hold an abandoned army post, John Dunbar found himself alone, beyond the edge of civilization. Thievery and survival soon forced him into the Indian camp, where he began a dangerous adventure that changed his life forever. Set in 1863, the novel follows Lieutenant John Dunbar on a magical journey from the ravages of the Civil War to the far reaches of the imperiled American frontier, a frontier he naively wants to see "before it is gone".

Histoire
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Not since the publication of his own beloved classic Lonesome Dove has there been a novel like this one, another big, brilliant, unputdownable saga of the West from Larry McMurtry. Telegraph Days is at once a major work of literature and a completely absorbing read, not just great fiction, but fiction on a great scale.

Histoire
Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket in all that time. But a Black man with cops at the door knows to be afraid. The last thing he expects to hear is that his son Isiah has been murdered, along with Isiah’s white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss. Derek’s father Buddy Lee was almost as ashamed of Derek for being gay as Derek was ashamed his father was a criminal. Buddy Lee still has contacts in the underworld, though, and he wants to know who killed his boy.

Histoire
With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

Great Book That Is Difficult To Put Down

Description
The final book of Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove tetralogy is an exhilarating tale of legend and heroism. Captain Woodrow Call, August McCrae's old partner, is now a bounty hunter hired to track down a brutal young Mexican bandit. Riding with Call are an Eastern city slicker, a witless deputy, and one of the last members of the Hat Creek outfit, Pea Eye Parker, now married to Lorena - once Gus McCrae's sweetheart. This long chase leads them across the last wild streches of the West into a hellhole known as Crow Town and, finally, into the vast, relentless plains of the Texas frontier.

Streets of Laredo, Dead Mans Walk, Comanche Moon.
this is my review for the 3 books in the title.
Streets of Laredo often left me feeling heartbroken for the characters we grew to love throughout Lonesome dove, but ultimately left me feeling like a fitting end for our beloved characters.
Dead Mans Walk takes us back to the early days of the Texas Rangers, Captains Woodrow Call and Augustus Mcrae a much younger than where we last left them and are joining up for the first time! along the way they meet a whole new cast of interesting characters who will grow to feel like family by the end of the story as they travel together across texas and beyond.
Comanche moon is where those missing members of the Hat Creek outfit finally show up, but they all feel little more than teenagers at this point. this time we meet an interesting new ranger captain, and the we see the origins of a familiar enemy, Blue Duck. Comanche moon is a perfect bridge between Dead Mans Walk and Lonesome Dove.
Overall this series is well done and a fitting companion to Lonesome Dove.

A worthy end to a great series
At times slow and repetitive but an engaging study of what it means to be human. As always with his writing, I was left moved almost to tears by his deep understanding of life from so many different points of view.
Not the adventure of the first three books of the series but an appropriate end with no loose ends.

Ending of a great Epic tale.
Larry McMurtry’s “Lonesome Dove” saga is the richest series of books I have ever read.
4 epic western stories come to close in Streets of Laredo, where we join Woodrow Call and the survivors of Lonesome Dove on one final adventure as well as meeting plenty of new characters. Larry McMurtry has a way of writing massive
Cinematic stories while never falling into random Hollywood stereotypes.
The events feel fleshed out and random. Such as life can be.
