How many self-help books are written by authors whose biggest success is selling self-help books? Three Simple Steps is different. Despite stock market crashes, dot-com busts, and the specter of recession, the author started a virtual company from home, using a few thousand dollars of his savings. A few years later, without ever hiring an employee or leaving his home office, he sold it for more than $100 million. As the economy slipped into another free fall, he did this again with a company in a different field. He accomplished this through no particular genius.

Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point: really hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip: a temporary setback that you will overcome if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

What is it that keeps us from asking for what we want? So often, the things that we want in our lives elude us for one very surprising (and deceptively simple) reason. We don't ask for them. From a higher salary... to a better bargain... to a little more help around the house, there are all sorts of desires that we harbor but never achieve, when the fact is, we haven't taken the most important step of all.

Franciscan priest Richard Rohr feels that there is no more challenging spiritual issue than the “problem of the self". Most of contemporary spiritual teaching, he believes, is still trying to inspire and fortify the private self, the autonomous "I". Even much church work is trying to evangelize and sacramentalize what many would call "the false self." Basic transformation is not expected, but merely a new set of beliefs and practices or loyal membership in a new group.

America's space agency wasn't created in a vacuum; it was assembled from preexisting parts, drawing together some of the best minds the non-Soviet world had to offer.

De-stressing your life can start today
First of all, happiness is a choice and that is one message I took away immediately I started listening to this audiobook. Stress is part of life and at the end of the day, we all feel stress
differently. There are some of us that react more to stress while others are able to push it down and are still productive. Either way, ignoring or coping with stress is dangerous and could manifest in ways that you least expect.
Stress management starts with identifying the source of your stress, which could be work, family or financial difficulties. These can all be solvable or even managed so that we are able to achieve some semblance of serenity. This book is all about shedding away bad habits and picking on new ones. The narrator asks us to pick a few things that we want to achieve with the book and this is a very important stress management strategy.
When I first rated my stress level and wrote down things that affected me, I was a bit surprised that it was a pretty long list. This helped me to identify the stress busters that worked for me. Look, everything listed in this book will not work the same for everybody but
the seven-day startup plan is a great way to ease into the process of changing your life.
The seven-day plan allows you to ease yourself into living a stress-free like. One of the most important points that this book recommends is making a plan with your partner. This is important because if you are living with someone who you spend plenty of time with, chances are they will be crucial to help you achieve your goals or be serious stumbling blocks to your startup plan. Also, starting your seven-day plan on a weekend also helps you to start off easy with minimal distractions.
One section of this book that I am grateful for is the chapter that focuses on online health. Social media is now a critical part of most people’s lives and can be a serious source of stress for us today. You should make sure that your use of social media does not cause you undue harm, self-esteem issues or stress. Try your best not to follow toxic people that are either abusive or make you unduly stressed out.
If you need to be continuously online and posting updates of your life, you should bear in mind that you will also see things that you wish you didn’t, things that will affect your mood. Do your best to decide how best you want to use social media and stick to it. If it means reducing your activity only, you should do that. Just make sure you shape it in such a way that you can take positive things. These include funny pictures and videos (not those rooted in meanness). Stay away from negative things like distressing videos and blogs that are famous for bad news.
Remember that your input into your system and mind is very important to your well-being. Take time to celebrate activities and milestones.

Very very good.
What made the experience of listening to Stress Management the most enjoyable?
Just the fact that it was so easy to understand, easy to follow and easy to implement. Contained a lot of very unique advice and tips.
What did you like best about this story?
Its not a story but what I liked best is the last half of the book as it contained so many different techniques and strategies.
Which character – as performed by Rachel Perry – was your favorite?
? Not that sort of book!
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Not one specific thing, more the fact that dealign with stress and anxiety CAN actually be beaten or at the very least lessened.
Any additional comments?
Everything in the book felt realistic. No stupid false promises here, just really good interesting and unique strategies and info. Thank you to the author for writing such a useful book.

Proven fast recovery
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I'd recommend this book to all my friends who are suffering from daily life stress and axiety. Life can be hundred times more beautiful if stress and anxiety is removed. Only then you can enjoy the real taste of life. Many of us are suffering from random anxieties. This book gives a confidence that these can be removed if one really wants to remove them.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stress Management?
The thing it says that you " You don't have to have a tough job or 7 children to have stress" and it is exactly true. Personally I feel like I fell less stress if my job is of higher responsibility and I get less time of thinking about worries. Stress and anxiety can happen to anyone and anytime but thankfully it is something that can be recovered.
Have you listened to any of Rachel Perry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to any of Rachel Perry’s other performances before this one was very effective and I am really writing this from my heart. I will definitely listen their future books.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Many of you might have experienced that when you go to a doctor and doctor treats you in a very calm and nice manner, you feel 50% well at the same time. This book was same to me and I was feeling like someone is giving me hope about life and I can really live it by just little struggle. I listened this book in one sitting and have created notes that will help me for mental grooming.
Any additional comments?
I know how it feels when a person is suffering from stress or anxiety and it is really not easy. Personally I feel like if you find a way to trick and retrack your mind , you can recover from it easily.

Great book to help combat stress!
This book gave great insight on stress triggers and techniques on how to elevate the impact of stress on the daily life. Be warned, however, you’re going to want to break out your daily journal to help track your progress through this process. The author is certainly clear that not every technique is for everyone but presents them in a tasteful way so as not to create more stress to become less stressed. I have yet to encounter an anti-stress book that does anything but tell you to disconnect yourself from social media as much as possible. This book is unique in that it encourages social media to help connect and bring positivity into those connections. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to tackle (in your own way at your own pace) the stresses of daily life.
