Mental Health
First you need to know that I have read most of Jenny Colgan's books and I love them. They are beautiful, truly wonderful vacations into worlds where bad things happen but there are also happy endings for her characters, who are courageous and carry on in the face of some of life's true miseries. Jenny has a way of noticing and painting word pictures of simple, everyday things that show love and bring joy. That is her magic.
In this book she tackles mental health by creating a character who is agoraphobic and severely anxious. And I have to say, what she portrays seems to me to be a mentally-healthy person's perception of what this phobia is about and what is required to "cure" it. I get it that in this book she wanted to address some of the emotional issues that many people are experiencing due to the pandemic. For them, this story will probably be appropriate and hopeful and possibly helpful.
I want to make the point that these emotional issues are not the same as having a phobia, or many other varieties of mental illness. If mental illness could be "cured" by some therapy sessions and, essentially, using willpower to change one's mind or one's thinking, there wouldn't be many mentally ill people left in the world. We all would have done that long, long ago.
If you have a mental illness, you might want to consider this aspect of the writing before buying this book. It felt ableist to me, wrapped up in an admittedly lovely package.

Good series, iffy narrator
This is a good serious if you need some thing with a happy ending.The narration was pretty good except for the voice of Huckle. This narrator cannot and should not do American accents. Thankfully, Huckle was only a minor character in this one.

good story
Why is it that we go through all the bad times with a character and when things finally get good the book ends? It was a very good story, but three quarters of the book is so depressing I want to jump off the roof. A couple of times I almost shut it down and thought I'd give it a little longer. I'm glad I did.

Overcoming obstacles has never been so charmingly told.

Finally a character who overcomes anxiety
The storyline had a slower pace in first 1-2 chapters, but gets very good in chapter 3.
I really like the care she gave to main character and description of feeling anxiety.
The thread of Polly’s twins had too much book time in last few chapters, but I really enjoyed the ending

Heartwarming
The last book in the series dives a little deeper into agoraphobia than I would’ve liked. However, the characters are very likable in the story moves along at a interesting pace, another uplifting and satisfying book from Jenny Colgan. It is wonderful to hear the follow up on Polly and her children.

As with the other books in this series, super writing but
While the narration is nice if largely undifferentiated for the female characters, & the Russian male is clear, the southern US lead male Huck often cannot be distinguished from
the British females. Be great if they could find a narrator up to the voices in this lovely book series
