Author Thomas Erikson explains that there are four key behavior types that define how we interact with and perceive the people around us. Understanding someone’s pattern of behavior is the key to successful communication. Erikson breaks down the four kinds of behavior types - Reds who are dominant and commanding, Yellows who are social and optimistic, Greens who are laid-back and friendly, and Blues who are analytical and precise - and explains how to identify and interact with each type of person.

Are you hungry to help others through leadership but don't feel like you have the authority? One of the greatest myths of leadership is that you must be in charge in order to lead. Great leaders don't buy it. Great leaders - whether they have the official authority or not - learn how to be an influential presence wherever they are. In How to Lead When You're Not in Charge, author and pastor Clay Scroggins explains the nature of leadership and what's needed to be a great leader - even when you answer to someone else.

Description
Number-one internationally best-selling author Thomas Erikson shows listeners how to identify and avoid the psychopaths around them.
Charming, charismatic, and delightful or manipulative, self-serving, and cunning? Psychopaths are both and that’s exactly what makes them dangerous. Best-selling author of the international phenomenon Surrounded by Idiots, Thomas Erikson, reveals how to identify the psychopaths in your life and combat their efforts to control and manipulate.
Using the same simple four-color system of behavior classification that made Surrounded by Idiots so popular, Surrounded by Psychopaths teaches listeners how to deal with psychopaths in their lives by becoming aware of their own behavior and their weaknesses. Vivid example stories illustrate ways that psychopaths can take advantage of various behavior types, helping listeners identify their own weaknesses and be proactive about protecting themselves. Erikson outlines some of the most common forms of manipulation used by psychopaths - and others - to influence those around them.
Since manipulation can often be a feature of ordinary, non-psychopathic relationships, the audiobook also includes practical methods and techniques to help readers confront controlling people and rehabilitate negative relationships into mutually respectful ones.
By understanding your behavior as well as the tendencies and strategies of psychopaths, Surrounded by Psychopaths will teach you to protect yourself from manipulative influence in your workplace, social life, and family.

Psychopaths Amongst Us!
I was surprised and alarmed how many psychopaths there are in the general population. Most are regular high functioning individuals. It’s important for the average person to know the behaviours in order to protect themselves from the psychopath. This is a very informative book.

Satisfying Read!
I've been waiting for the release of this book for MONTHS after finishing Surrounded by Idiots. I was primarily raised by a psychopath who primed me for relationships with unhealthy personalities. I've come to realize that some of my traits such as people pleasing and codependency (me taking care of men I date) isn't really me. My psychopathic mother taught me all that and made me believe that that's who I was and if I wasn't like that then I'm selfish and bad. A year ago I read, "Hidden Abuse" and the veil was lifted and I've been learning as much as I can about Narcissists and Psychopaths to protect myself moving forward from such relationships. Knowledge truly is power. I appreciate how this book went into the weaknesses of each color personality and then how a psychopath can exploit those weaknesses. I am a blue through and through, except due to the abuse I suffered, I have weaknesses of the green personality the most in my profile.
This book is extremely helpful, well written and has encouraged me to start my own business. My work environment has a few Psychopaths in management. I thought I should leave. I honestly hate the job because nothing is fair at all and there seems to be no one you can go to. A previous manager I reported to would play weird mind games with me, pretending to help me, and when the links she sent wouldn't work she acted confused although she's worked for the company for 15 years. She never did anything, would have us do her work and then take credit. There's another manager who's basically a bully when no else is around to witness his behavior. A trainer who just got promoted to be a manager who use to give us the wrong information on purpose, so we would fail quality checks and then act like she never gave us the info or tell us it was an honest mistake.
For a long time, I would take the blame and responsibility for these behaviors or things going wrong, like I just must have misunderstood, but now I understand who I'm dealing with and I'm going to excuse myself and leave the room because I'm not interested in their games. I just want to live a good, happy and productive life and take care of my children ❤️
Thank you for giving me the tools to attain my ideal life with the information in this book!

Good, but is it great?
I listened to this book immediately after I finished "Surrounded by Idiots", one of the best books there is on the subject.
First, I tell you what I liked about this book: The performance is much better, as it lacks those long pauses between sentences in the first book by the same narrator, which was lengthening the read unnecessarily. There is a full chapter which it summarizes personality colors from the last book, with added examples and elaboration, which it is a great addition. The author dives deep with very explicit psychopathic personal stories. If you ever dealt with such personalities, you can relate to those events without exaggeration.
What I didn't like about this new book, is the lack of back up researches on some of the points being made in the book, although the personal stories in it are good, but at times, it feels the author generalizes some of those points without providing any source to a research neither to his work nor to other sources if any. Listening to the book gives an impression as if the book is written by mostly, emotions of the author and it tires to get the message across to individuals in his own life, knowing they will read the book. Also there some digital noises starting the second half of the book.
As much as I liked the last book, and there are some good points in this one worth reading, but TO ME, it seemed the subjects presented in this book was not entirely in the scope of author's field of expertise, but sure it does raise awareness.

wish I'd have gotten my hands on this book before my first marriage. if you've ever been involved with a psychopath some of these points will hit eerily close to your experiences! Knowledge is power.

Wow
I didn't know I needed to read this book this much. To understand how you as an individual (based upon your traits) can be manipulated and how different types of individuals will attempt to manipulate you... This was difficult to listen to at times but overall it was a bit healing. There are some things that I will never allow to happen again because of reading this.

Pseudoscientific nonsense
This book is based on the DISC system, which is pseudoscientific hootenany. I recommend one of the dozens of other pop-psych books on psychopaths out there.

Gives answers to some questions
Written in an easy way. Triggering if you ever been hurt by someone with these traits but does not give any reason to wrongfully lead someone to give a diagnosis. Helps to build a better mind to take control.

leaves nothing to the imagination
Very detailed descriptions of this menace to society and what to do when you encounter one. Unfortunately for me, I have crossed the paths of several. These are very dangerous individuals so pay careful attention to this audio book. I highly recommend this audio book....
