This fun story was brought to life by Jesse V.'s narration. She really brought nuance to the dialogue.
I hope T. Kingfisher continues this series, I'd sure like to know what happened to The Dervish and Angharad Shieldborn.

I love the sense of humor in this book, the first few chapters made me laugh so hard my husband kept staring at me. Just the dark humor when she's trying to figure out how to kill herself with a sword had me dying laughing. The descriptions of this world and the monsters in it were excellent. The narrator is incredible! Her whooping sounds for the monsters were so well done! and the slow burn romance is just cute and awkward, and I am here for it. Also, a heroinne who's over 30 and pleasantly plump and curvy is amazing and refreshingly different. I loved every second!

The amount of times I laughed out loud in the first Chapter gave this 5 stars immediately

Great story line and decent character generation. This is more of a modern style of writing geared towards a new generation of fantasy enthusiasts.
