I liked most of the stories although a couple of them didn’t have the same Brandon Sanderson flow to them, leading to unfinished or awkward feeling stories. My favourite in this collection was Snapshot. I think it is worth buying but I wouldn’t put it at the top of my wish list.

I feel a little bit as though these stories were just thrown together, with the exception of the last story. The last story reads like most of Brandon’s Sanderson’s work.

Collections like this or Ars Arcanum aren't for everyone. They can feel disjointed and random. The thing that I appreciate from the smaller pieces isnt necessarily the writing itself, but the perspective that Brandon provides in the end notes about why he made the decisions that he did about these pieces. A perfect addition to an admittedly parasocial curiosity. At first I was upset to see Snapshot in here, as I had read it previously, but that was my misunderstanding of the purpose of this book. This book is a collection of stories he has written throughout his career. They show growth. They provide a perspective of how the author thought, and critiqued their own work, at the time of writing. That, I think, is the most valuable part of this collection.
