Right when Dani thinks she's hit a dead-end in her career, she unexpectedly inherits an enormous old house in a quaint college town. This gives her the perfect opportunity to pursue her true passion - cooking! So Dani opens Chef-to-Go, preparing delicious, ready-made meals for hungry students attending the nearby university, as well as providing personal chef services and catering events for the local community. To help support her new business, she opens her home to a few students, renting them rooms and becoming almost like a big sister figure in their lives.

But just as Dani is relishing her sweet new life, the friend of one of her boarders is murdered, and Dani becomes one of the primary suspects! She'll have to scramble to clear her name and save her business before the killer reappears - perhaps to silence the new chef forever.

A ridiculous unrealistic detective and storylines dropped or unresolved just made this a disappointing read. The last couple of chapters need a rewrite to tie up lose ends a little better as the overall plot and most characters were done well.

I could not figure out whether this author wants to write romance novels, which she does poorly or mystery novels, which she does even more poorly.. She does try To describe Intercut recipes and it just does not flow with the story either.. The other very weird quirk is all of the names of the location and people. She's used names twice in novels and it's just awkward.. She likes the name sky as she's used it for the Chief's wife and also one of the girls that live with Danielle. It the personarating made a few verbal mistakes as well which was off putting.. The person who narrates sounds very robotic and I'm not quite convinced that it was not a not a robot reader. It was an incredibly predictable Mystery and I did not need to read a romance. If I wanted a Harlequin romance I would have bought one at the grocery store
