On a therapist’s advice, a teacher begins journaling about her school year in an effort to be more present for her family. Her journal documents the school year from beginning to end. Since her school year starts with a bad evaluation, which gets her put on a performance plan, the journal becomes a lifeline for saying everything a "good teacher" would never say.
As she combats her job's ever-increasing demands and stress, she begins seeing her career in a new light...and it's not a good one. The journal becomes a raw, unfiltered look at the American public education system from a teacher’s view. Through humor and introspection, the teacher pours her soul into the pages of the journal and begins to question if the world of education is a place she wants to be...or should be.
