À propos de cet audio

Miyara saved the city of Sayorsen and the dragons.

She was happy with the place she'd made for herself. But every action triggers consequences.

Her older sister comes to drag her back to the palace and the meaningless life she hated. The tea guild won't support her unless she succeeds on her own in their chosen challenge: a tea tournament and the international politics and unrest that come along with it. To top it all off, the border protecting the remaining world from the magical disaster zone is suddenly failing.

The path she'd thought was clear is twistier than ever, but armed with her trusty tea set, Miyara will fight to keep it.

Tea Set and Match is the second book of the Tea Princess Chronicles, a cozy fantasy series full of magic tea, baby dragons, friendship, and lifting people up even when the odds seem impossible.

This book transcends the walls of story that so many authors seem to hold themselves back from. It is a heartfelt exploration of the interplay between magic, personal agency, and the novel's richly-developed socio-political landscape, with clear themes for us in today's world. As someone with major depression, it unfolded as a profoundly nurturing experience, its characters giving me a sense of wonder and happiness I don't often feel.

What captivated me most was Miyara's acute awareness of the space she occupies alongside her friends, and how this space has been sculpted by the world's forces. Her commitment to understanding and transforming her environment ultimately through her own attitude, ensuring it nurtures and sustains rather than confines, speaks volumes about the power of individual agency in shaping our collective reality and was thrilling for me to actually see written down in novel form.

The way in which the narrative celebrates the potential for change—both within and without, through self-awareness, compassion, and dialogue—left me inspired and hopeful in ways very few books ever have managed. Thanks to the wonderful narrator who brought this book to life for me, and thanks so very much to the author for promising another book I can look forward to.
