I enjoyed this story a lot and found myself listening to it all the time. I found the characters and the story very interesting with a unique twist on the whole Isekai/lit RPG genre. I will say that it does take a while to really get started and some of the scientific terms within are a bit complicated. If you don't judge the story by the first few chapters and don't mind magic mixed with science you may enjoy this story as much as I do. I love sci-fi and fantasy genres, this story does that while mixing it wil Isekai and lit RPG elements as well.

Out of all the isakei/LitRPG books I've read, this is the only book where MC is a true scientist and fully utilizes his knowledge to interact with magic e.g. dump most free points into intelligence and use math to create new spells. The author himself is not a scientist, so the details are skipped over, but I don't mind that at all. MC was also very adapt at making plans to over come obstacles and usually come up on top by careful execution instead of plot armor, which I really like.

Now for something I'm not a fan of - mind magic. There are a lot of it in the book, from simple invisibility illusions to truth detection, to mind control, and messing with dreams and memory and of course MC and his allies often become victims. I really dislike chapter-long segments describing a character dreaming, doesn't remember or doesn't have full control of themselves.

true scientist in another world, with mind magic
