Reading?
The reading was good. Dick Hill put in an admirable effort giving each character a voice to be heard. but like so many other people saying a characters name wrong pulls you out of the immersion every time it happens.

Butchered the names of the characters.
If you insist on switching narrators so often in a single series, put in some effort for continuity in pronunciation of the names.
Dick Hill saved it with his amazing performance. His voices are very well done.

Dear god the pronunciation is atrocious
Im 30 seconds in and I already want a refund, this Narrator butchers the female lead characters name...it's brutal and will be irritating for the whole book... Damn brilliance audio, do better.

Wrong pronunciations
Terry Goodkind is amazing and his series is so engulfing but Dick Hill can’t pronounce any names to save his life. It was so annoying to hear him continually mispronounce one of the MAIN characters names...

Listen past the performance and the story is good.
What can I say about Dick Hill, besides the obvious that he mis-pronounces Kahlan name and a few others his pace and his tone of spearheaded is consistent making the story simple to follow.
As for the story itself, I love this book. Other readers might think it flat at times I find it detailed and intriguing. Terry Goodkind works to build the supporting characters up in the book while still following Richard and Kahlan’s main story.
Overall I enjoyed the book and while this was my first time listening to it, I have read it half a dozen times myself.
Hope you enjoy it for the great story it is.

why change names...
after 3 books, narrator starts pronouncing some of the characters names wrong. whyyyyyyy.

I love this story
. I really like this tale. Read it as a teen, enjoyed all the books so far, but calling Kalen- Collen... ridiculous. How did Terry ever let this pass?

Another new narrator
This series goes through narrators like toilet paper. Honestly this guy was my favourite so far except that he couldn’t pronounce names. The story was fine though the betrayal was a bit contrived for my taste. Great series, very engaging just teach your narrators to pronounce key words and all will be well.

Excellent narration!
Even though I too was initially put off by his different pronunciation of Kahlan, the narrator did an excellent job of voice acting the characters and overall narration! Loved it!

Wow, this narrator really ruined this book
Troy, you are right.In the beginning, Im wondering who the heck is Colin? Some new character? Someone we have never met? No, just a real bad reader. Obviously, this was never editted by audible, or they would know that Terry Goodkind had intended that the name be pronounced correctly.(KAY-LIN). I doubt the narrator even listened to ANY previous copies of the books, so as to keep continuity to the story.I've been listening for 10 minutes,confused as to who Kara was talking to and had to stop to read the reviews, something I hardly do, as not to have my impression of the book tainted by positive or negative reviews. Do you think the narrators even care what we have to say? Probably not. I understand he reads Book 5 too...YAY!!!! Switching from one narrator to another in a long series is something that I am used to. They usually pronounce the names right, but come on Dick, next time...do alittle research before hand and avoid these negative reviews, that is, if you even care. Good luck people tolerating this title and the next one.

Her name is Kahlen not Colin!!
Like most people I have been ensnared by this series. Terry Goodkind knows how to weave a magical tale; however it is totally butchered by Dick Hill's narration. If you can get past the fact that this gentlemen mispronouces Kahlen's name often calling her different variations of Colin then it is worth listening to. I found myself every two minutes having to remember who Colin is!! Lucky for us he only narrates one of this series. It is amazing to me that the editors let this go. It is a long book and how do you not realize the mispronunciations!! I still enjoyed the story and will continue to purchase these books as long as Dick Hill is NOT the narrator!!

Unfortunately...
Unfortunately, I started the series and so it has to be finished. I say unfortunately only because the audio in this series is terribly inconsistent. The audio for this SPECIFIC book in the series is the worst ever!
The narrator actually mispronounces the names of main characters over and over. Meaning, the narrator not only starts the book with his own twist on announcing the names of principal charaters but then goes on to pronounce the same name differently later on. Then he switches back and forth!!!! What! It doesn't make sense and it is frustrating. Yes, I had read the reviews before I bought this title. Unfortunately for me, I wanted to continue the series and now have to trudge through it. It's horrendous.

Hate the Narrator
I love this series of books. I find it a little disturbing when the narrators change from book to book in a series, but that can be okay if they are good narrators. But this narrator is really terrible. He doesn't pronounce the names of the characters correctly, and he made my favorite character "Zed" sound stupid with a really, really, exaggerated accent. I am almost to the point where I am thinking of finding a spoiler of this book so I can quickly move on to the next without having to listen to this guy anymore. The story itself is wonderful, the series is wonderful, so far, but I would buy the book of this one and leave the narration to yourself, you will be better satisfied.

Please no more Dick Hall
The narrator should have at least listened to one of the prior books. He is a poor narrator and has a poor sense of the characters. His vocal stylings more adapted to gangster novels than to epic fantasy. His insistent determination not to pronounce names in the same manner as written is more than disconcerting it is offensive.
The novel itself is a small jewel and deserves better treatment by the voice talent.
I would rate the novel as a 5 and the narration as a 1-. Thus the average is 3 out of five.

These stories are very good and deserve to be read by someone who cares about the story. I have enjoyed many stories over the years where the same narrator is used start to finish and it makes such a HUGE difference in the enjoyment of the story that is almost unmeasurable. Anyone who can't be bothered to even check the main character name pronunciation when starting in the middle of a series should not be considered for the job. If there is a QA team that listens before the story is brought to it's audience then they too should be replaced. Barring this - as always, the story will capture you and keep you wanting more. I highly recommend the story to anyone who enjoys the world of Fantasy.

Wrong Name
I thought the story was good but it could have been better a hole lot better. In the first 3 books the main female was called Kalin not colin like in the temple of the winds. I'm suprised when they made this recording nobody caught it.

Temple of the Winds
I have enjoyed the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind - I am afterall on Book 5 of the series.
The one disturbing element I have encountered is due to the change in narrator that came with Book 5 - Temple of the Winds. I am disturbed by the fact that the narrator pronounces some of the character and place names differently than what I heard in the first 4 books. Even the name of one of the main characters - Kaelin. It has gone from Kay-lynn to Collin. This may be a minor point to some, but it continues to bother me.

Reader problem
The story holds up but the reader pronounces Kahlan's name as though it were Colin and it threw me off every time. I had to keep translating it in my mind. It was rather annoying.

Narrator Killed the story
