He helps the contemporary church wrestle with the questions racial violence brings up: How can we become communities that show generosity and resist greed? Dr Foley makes a compelling case for a proper diagnosis of the root of racism. This book not only expands my perspective on this topic but also provided new vocabulary for some of my observations. I love that he didn't just describe the problems but provided some solutions. These suggested solutions lays bear the true cost of discipleship. Will I follow Jesus or lay up treasures here. Truly, Mammon is a spirit and thus must be defeated by our spiritual weapons of warfare.
