À propos de cet audio

If V. C. Andrews and Kate Morton had a literary love child, Emma Rous' USA Today bestseller The Au Pair would be it.

One of the most anticipated books of 2019 from Pop Sugar, Bustle, Cosmo, Parade, and Goodreads!

Seraphine Mayes and her twin brother, Danny, were born in the middle of summer at their family's estate on the Norfolk coast. Within hours of their birth, their mother threw herself from the cliffs, the au pair fled, and the village thrilled with whispers of dark cloaks, changelings, and the aloof couple who drew a young nanny into their inner circle.

Now an adult, Seraphine mourns the recent death of her father. While going through his belongings, she uncovers a family photograph that raises dangerous questions. It was taken on the day the twins were born, and in the photo, their mother, surrounded by her husband and her young son, is smiling serenely and holding just one baby.

Who is the child, and what really happened that day?

I was deciding between a few books and chose this one on a whim. Wasnt sure if I was going to like it but wow. I was not disappointed. The narrator was excellent wonderful job portraying the different characters throughout the book. And the story was very well done. I couldn't put it down!

Very Glad I selected this book!

My first audible purchase! I was drawn by the cover so decided to give this a listen, trying to figure out if Audible was even for me.

I actually bought the paperback so I can read this in a year on my own, I enjoyed this so much. I really loved the concept of this. Seraphine was a bit of an annoying character but just push through, it gets so good! I kind of had an idea of how this would end but there is a twist! Emma Rous, please write more!!

Narration: At first I wondered why they picked the narrator for the Seraphine character (I was not impressed). After about three chapters however, I was h-o-o-k-e-d. Both ladies did an amazing job.

RE-READ WORTHY!

The Au Pair proved to be great distraction. Told from two perspectives: a family's au pair at the time twins were born, and the quest one of those twins to untangle the truth as an adult. What were the family secrets behind this twin's story? Her father had a recent fatal accident... or was it? Her mother committed suicide on the day she was born... why? The only photo of her parents on the day she was born showed only one baby... where was the other twin? There are more twists and possibilities than one can imagine, so this novel kept my attention through to the end.

Great distraction
