À propos de cet audio
“Pullman’s abilities as a storyteller are stupendous, and on full display.”—The Atlantic
“Tremendously entertaining.”—Slate
Lyra Silvertongue is alone in a city haunted by daemons, searching for her beloved Pan. Malcolm Polstead isn’t far behind, searching for Lyra. And they are both racing toward the desert of Karamakan, following the trail of roses said to hold the secret of Dust.
Their allies and enemies are converging on the mysterious red building at the heart of the desert: Marcel Delamare and the military might of the Magisterium; the radical Men from the Mountains; scientists, scholars, and spies; troops of witches and other people of the air. And awaiting them all is a previously unseen and chilling new threat that will change everything.
The intertwining odysseys of Malcolm and Lyra, their journeys both internal and external, will test their limits and challenge even their most dearly held beliefs.
As ever, Philip Pullman is using the language of fantasy to illuminate our world and to explore the deepest questions of what it means to be alive and awake to all the splendors and horrors around us. The extraordinary novels of The Book of Dust speak powerfully to today’s readers and will take their place alongside the forever-favorites of His Dark Materials.
Look for the entire trilogy of THE BOOK OF DUST:
La Belle Sauvage • The Secret Commonwealth • The Rose Field
And Lyra’s adventures begin in HIS DARK MATERIALS:
The Golden Compass • The Subtle Knife • The Amber Spyglass
Ce que les critiques en disent
★ “As ever, Philip Pullman invites us to increase our capacity for wonder even as we recoil from the world’s torments.... The Rose Field is rich, radiant and rare.” —BookPage, starred review
“A worthy conclusion.” —Dan Kois, The New York Times Book Review
“The Rose Field will cap the adventures of Lyra Silvertongue, the flinty, brilliant heroine who makes the mother of dragons look meek.” —Literary Hub
“Lyra is one of the most memorable and beloved heroines in YA fiction and fantasy in general.” —GameSpot
“Assured prose considers the interplay between logic and imagination as well as community and exploitation, injecting further ideological complexity into the familiar world first introduced in The Golden Compass.” —Booklist
“Richly endowed with big ideas and larger-than-life characters." —Kirkus Reviews

it started off rather well, right from where book 2 ended... Then it quickly began to lose steam- the griffins... They are as silly and as awkward as "mulefa",- as the young people say today, "cringy". The whole story of the "evil sorcerer" does not belong in such a well-regarded story.
Loose ends aplenty, but it isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I can even forgive such syrupy ending.
But as the story went on, I felt that it wasn't Lyra who was on the quest to find her imagination, but that it was Michael Pullman who was looking for his. Alas, in vain.
an unexpected letdown

This last leg of the journey is full of the same magic, majesty, cruelty, creatures, beauty and adventure that started us along it’s winding roads, rivers, and Kingdoms among the clouds.
I will miss the heart and the determination that Pullman pours into these characters and will forever be grateful that I can revisit them time and again, by blowing the dust of the jacket, turning a page and begin again to wonder what form my Daemon would take.
I would follow Lyra and Malcolm anywhere.
I yearn to know how Will is doing, and although this story concludes before their lives are fully lived out, I am grateful for the window in to their worlds I was given.
A last dance through my favorite world.
